Playing Indoor Golf
Hello! My name is Steven, and you will never guess what I did yesterday. My parents took my baby sister to the park. And I had the house all to myself. I got bored watching TV. I was about to go outside and shoot some hoops when I suddenly got an idea. My father gave me my very own set of golf clubs for my birthday. I could not wait to use them.
I love playing putt-putt golf, so I thought I would play some golf in the house. If I was really careful, my parents would never know I played golf in the house. There were a lot of breakable things in the house, so I wasn’t sure where I should start playing. After thinking for a few minutes, I decided to start playing in my bedroom.
I placed my bedroom trash can on its side. That would be the first hole. I putted the ball, and my dog, Scooter, caught the ball in his mouth and ran out of my room. I chased Scooter all over the house. I finally cornered Scooter in the kitchen, got the ball out of his mouth, and put him in the backyard.
Since I was in the kitchen, I decided to putt the golf ball into a drinking glass. I aimed the ball toward the glass and took a swing. You can imagine my surprise when the glass went flying out of the kitchen and into the dining room. I cheered because I had just made a hole in one. Then, I was horrified when the glass shattered into a million pieces all over my mom’s new carpet.
Next, I decided to try my luck playing golf in the basement. My dad keeps his pool table down there. And I thought that would be a fun place to practice putting a golf ball. With my club and golf ball in hand, I climbed up onto the pool table. I placed the ball in front of me. I took a deep breath, raised the club, and gently hit the ball.
Before could stop it, the ball hit the side of the pool table and went flying through the air. Helplessly, I watched the golf ball knock a shelf full of books off the wall. The ball then landed on the ground where it rolled to a stop.
I put the shelf and the books back where they belonged and straightened up the rest of the basement. Next, I let Scooter back in the house, cleaned up the broken glass in the dining room, and tidied up my bedroom a little bit. Then, I watched a movie until my family came home. I sure learned the hard way that playing golf in the house is not a good idea.
